Apple Topping

Great on waffles, pancakes, ice cream, etc!

Servings: 4
Time: 25 minutes

Ingredients:
  • 2 Granny Smith Apples, diced into 1/2" pieces
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 2 Tablespoons brown sugar
  • 2 Tablespoons butter (vegan, if desired)
  • Fresh juice from 1/2 a lemon
  • Pinch of salt

Instructions:
  • In a small pot, combine apple and water and bring to a simmer over med-high heat.
  • Reduce heat to low and cook until apple is softened (about 8 minutes), stirring occasionally.
  • Add brown sugar, butter, lemon juice and salt and mix well.
  • Increase heat to med-high again and cook until thickened (about 1-2 minutes).
  • Serve!
