Add onion and garlic and saute until tender (5-8 minutes).
Add broth, rice, soy sauce and pepper flakes and bring to a boil.
Reduce heat to medium-low, cover, and cook until rice is tender and liquid is absorbed (about 15 minutes).
Stir in scallions, red pepper and sesame seeds, cover and let sit 5 minutes.
Fluff with fork and serve immediately!
