In medium bowl combine flour, salt & baking soda. Mix well and set aside.
In a large bowl mix sugars and butter until combined.
Add eggs and vanilla and mix just until blended.
Mix in desired add-ins until combined.
Drop by rounded tablespoon-full onto ungreased cookie sheet (leaving about 2 inches between each cookie).
Bake 18-22 minutes or until golden brown.
Remove cookies from sheet and cool on a wire rack.
Store in a cool, dry place (or in the refrigerator/freezer).
