Chocolate Haystack Cookies

It wouldn't be Christmas without these at our house!  This variation is from my Grandma Madge Fratzke.
DIETS: LC VT
Serves 36

Ingredients: 
  • 1 (12-oz) package milk chocolate chips (or vegan alternative if desired)
  • 1 (12-oz) package butterscotch chips (or vegan alternative if desired)
  • 2 cups chow mien noodles
  • 1 cup peanuts

​Instructions: 
  • Melt chips together over low heat until melted (don't rush this step!  If the chips heat too quickly, they will scald and this ruins the consistency of the mixture). 
  • Add noodles and nuts and mix well.
  • Drop by spoonfuls onto waxed paper. Cool. 

Variations: 
  • Make "Gremlins" for Halloween by adding mini M&M's as eyes!
