Crockpot Asian Chicken Wings

Sticky, savory, and deeply aromatic, these easy slow-cooked wings balance umami-rich soy sauce, antioxidant-packed ginger and garlic, and naturally sweet onions for a crowd-pleasing appetizer that tastes far more indulgent than it is complicated.

Ingredients: 
  • Approximately 32 chicken wings
  • 1 cup chopped white/yellow onion
  • 1 cup soy sauce or tamari
  • ¾ cup packed light brown sugar
  • ¼ cup dry sherry
  • 2 tablespoons fresh ginger, minced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • Chopped fresh chives or scallions for garnish

Instructions:
  •  Preheat broiler and broil wings about 5 minutes per side.
  • Place chicken in slow cooker.
  • In a medium bowl, mix onion, soy sauce, brown sugar, sherry, ginger and garlic.
  • Add to slow cooker and stir to combine.
  • Cover and cook on low 5 to 6 hours or on high 2 to 3 hours.
  • Sprinkle with chives or scallions and serve.
