Golden Milk (V, GF)

An Ayurvedic cure-all,  Indian Turmeric Milk (commonly called Golden Milk)  is safe (and recommended) to drink daily for optimal health. 
Serves 1


Ingredients: 
  • 1 cup full fat coconut milk
  • 3/4 teaspoon turmeric powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/8 teaspoon ground cardamom
  • Pinch of black pepper (helps the body to absorb the turmeric)
  • 1 teaspoon grated fresh ginger (or 1/8 teaspoon dried, powdered ginger)
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon honey

Instructions: 
  • Heat everything except vanilla and honey in a small saucepan until hot (but don't fully boil). 
  • Remove from heat and let steep for 7 minutes. 
  • Add the vanilla and honey and mix well. 
  • Strain into a mug ( strain a couple of times to remove the grittiness of the spices). 
  • Drink immediately.
