Linden

Tilia is a genus of about 30 species of trees or bushes, native throughout most of the temperate Northern Hemisphere. The tree is known as linden for the European species, and basswood for North American species.

Scientific Name:  Tilia cordata
Parts Used:  Leaves, flowering tops

Cautions:
  • None reported

Healing Properties
  • Cooling, calmative, nervine, demulcent, anti-inflammatory
  • Combats high blood pressure, heart disease, headaches caused by cold, dizziness, epilepsy
  • Mildly sedative, encourages perspiration, eases muscle spasms and cramps
  • Helps relieve nervous tension, anxiety, stress, feverish colds or influenza
