Oatmeal Chocolate Chip Cookies

Ingredients: 
  • 1 cup (2 sticks) butter
  • 1 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 1/2 cups uncooked rolled oats
  • 1 1/2 cups whole wheat flour
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 Tablespoons water
  • 1 cup walnuts, chopped
  • 1 pkg (12oz) milk chocolate chips

Instructions: 
  • In a large bowl, cream the butter with the brown sugar and granulated sugar. Beat in the eggs until light.
  • Add the vanilla, baking soda and salt. Blend in the rolled oats, wheat flour, all-purpose flour and water to make a fairly stiff dough.
  • Blend in the walnuts and chocolate chips. Shape cookies about the size of large unshelled walnuts.
  • Place on lightly greased cookie sheets. Flatten slightly. Bake at 375F for 10-12 minutes or until cookies are just browned around the edges and feel firm in the center. Do not over bake.
  • Remove from cookie sheets. Cool on racks.
