Combine 1 cup of the flour, yeast, sugar, salt, garlic powder and basil in a large bowl and mix well.
Add 2 Tablespoons olive oil and warm water and stir well.
Add another 1 cup of flour and stir well. Stir until dough becomes elastic and starts pulling away from the sides of the bowl (add as much as 1/3 cup additional flour if needed).
Place dough in a greased bowl (coat entire ball of dough with the oil). Cover with plastic wrap and let rise in a warm place for about 30 minutes, or until doubled in size.
Transfer dough to a floured surface and knead until smooth (about 5 minutes).
Using a rolling pin or your hands, spread dough into 12" circle. Place on a preheated pizza stone (at 550F) and brush with olive oil. Prick with fork to prevent bubbling.
Reduce oven to 425F.
Top pizza with desired toppings and bake for 10-15 minutes (depending on how many toppings) until browned.
