Raspberry, also called red raspberry or occasionally European red raspberry to distinguish it from other raspberry species is a red-fruited species of Rubus native to Europe and northern Asia and commonly cultivated in other temperate regions

Scientific Name:  Rubus idaeus
Parts Used:  Leaves, fruit

Cautions:
  • Can cause mild diarrhea and nausea in some individuals.

Healing Properties​:
  • Increases milk flow in nursing mothers. 
  • A supportive treatment for childbirth, helping to tone and strengthen the womb in the weeks before the birth is due.  (generally taken for 8 weeks before and up to labor).
  • Leaves encourage urination and will stimulate digestion. Also recommended for period pain.  
  • Good gargle for sore throats or a useful addition to remedies for diarrhea and hemorrhoids.  
  • Fruits are laxative and help to clear toxins.  Also good for fevers and cystitis.  
  • Recommended for indigestion and rheumatic pains.
  • Vinegar made from berries is a popular folk remedy for coughs.
