In a bowl, mix kernels with flour, cornmeal, onion, basil, baking powder, baking soda and salt/pepper; set aside.
In small bowl whisk egg, buttermilk and melted butter, then add to cornmeal mixture.
Heat skillet with drizzle of olive oil. Add batter and cook each side until brown and cooked through. Served topped with tomato, avocado and cilantro. Salt & Pepper to taste.
