Cook bacon in a large skillet over medium-high heat until crispy.
Reduce heat to medium-low and add in A1, sherry/wine and brown sugar. Simmer for about 5 minutes or until slightly thickened. Remove from heat and keep warm.
Season steaks with salt and pepper (to taste) on both sides.
Heat a thin layer of olive oil in a separate large saute pan over medium heat and cook steaks turning once, until done to preference. (about 5 minutes per side for rare)
Remove to a plate, cover tightly with foil, and let sit for 5-10 minutes.
Serve topped with warm sauce
