Steak with Whiskey Sauce

Time: 30 Minutes

Ingredients: 
  • 1/2 cup dry red wine
  • 1/4 cup whiskey
  • 6 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1/2 teaspoon red chili pepper flakes
  • 1 Tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon pepper
  • 4 strip steaks, 1" thick

Instructions: 
  • Add wine, whiskey, garlic, chili flakes, Worcestershire, salt & pepper in a small saucepan and mix well.
  • Brush both sides of steaks with mixture and set aside.
  • Heat remaining sauce mixture over med-high until boiling.  Boil, uncovered about 10 minutes (or until reduced to about 1/3-1/2 cup).
  • Reduce heat to low and keep warm.
  • Lightly oil grill and preheat to med-high.  
  • Grill steaks with lid closed, turning once, about 5 minutes on each side (for medium-rare) or until desired doneness.
  • Serve steaks warm with sauce drizzled on top
