Sunburn
Reddening, inflammation, and, in severe cases, blistering and peeling of the skin caused by overexposure to the ultraviolet rays of the sun.

ESSENTIAL OILS
- Chamomile or Lavender Oil: Add to cool bath or mix with 1/2 oz almond oil (or other carrier) and apply to skin twice daily.
- 1/2 teaspoon lavender oil mixed with 1 Tablespoon St. John's Wort Oil, applied on location.
- Tea Tree & lavender (5 drops each mix with distilled water, spray on location).
HERBAL
- Aloe Vera Gel: Apply gel to affected areas (either store-bought, or directly from a plant).
NATURAL
- Place ice packs on affected area for 20-30 minutes.
- Make a poultice of oatmeal soaked in milk and apply to affected area
- Make a 50/50 solution of apple cider vinegar and water and spritz on sunburned skin
- Soak in a cool bath with some baking soda added
- Earl Gray Tea: Place 6 earl grey tea bags in your coffee pot filter holder and then run a pot of water through your coffeepot at the 10-12 cup setting. Once it's done brewing, transfer the tea into a large bowl and add the teabags that you used to brew the pot of tea. Let it cool to room temperature. Soak a clean towel in the bowl of room temperature Earl Grey tea. Wring it out gently and apply it to directly to the burned area for a minimum of 30 minutes. Do not use sprays, aloe or any other treatment. This should be applied within 6-8 hours of the initial burn to be most effective.
SUPPLEMENTS
- Flaxseed Oil: 1 Tablespoon (14 grams) twice daily (can be mixed with food, use until fully healed)
- Vitamin C: 1,000 mg 3 times daily (reduce if it causes diarrhea)
- Vitamin E: 400 IU twice daily or topical cream (don't use orally if taking an anticoagulant drugs)
