White Chocolate Blondie Dessert

DIETS: VT
Servings: 8
Time: 1 hour

Ingredients:

Blondie Ingredients:
  • 4 egg whites
  • 1/2 cup butter, softened
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 1/3 cup sugar
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 2 1/4 cups flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 8 ounces white chocolate (pounded into small chunks)
  • 1/2 cup chopped walnuts

Sauce Ingredients:
  • 1/2 cup butter, softened
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 1/4 cup (2 ounces) cream cheese, softened
  • 2 Tablespoons pure maple syrup
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

Garnishes:
  • Vanilla Ice cream
  • Chopped walnuts

Instructions:
  • Preheat oven to 325F
  • Make the blondie by combining all blondie ingredients, except white chocolate and walnuts, in a large bowl.  Mix with an electric mixer until well combined and smooth.   Mix in white chocolate chunks and walnuts by hand.  Pour into a greased 9x13 baking pan and bake for 40-45 minutes or until top is browned and toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  • While blondie bakes, mix all sauce ingredients together in a medium bowl with an electric mixer until well combined and smooth.
  • To serve, slice blondie into 8 pieces.  Serve while blondie is still warm, or microwave it for 30-60 seconds.  Warm the sauce as well (30-60 seconds in the microwave).  Top each slice of blondie with a scoop of ice cream.  Drizzle with sauce and sprinkle with chopped walnuts.
