Thyroid Issues - Hyperthyroidism
Overactivity of the thyroid gland. Symptoms include: mood changes, sleeping difficulty, weight loss, diarrhea, rapid heartbeat, intolerance to heat, goiter, muscle weakness, light or no menstrual periods

FOODS TO EAT MORE OF
  • Raw cruciferous vegetables such as broccoli, cauliflower, Brussels sprouts, kale, cabbage and collard greens, parsley

FOODS TO AVOID OR MINIMIZE
  • Iodized salt and iodine-containing foods including saltwater fish and shellfish
  • Coffee & Soda

ESSENTIAL OILS 
  • Lemongrass, myrrh,  spruce (thyroid, big toes, bottom of feet, diffuse)

HERBAL
  • Lemon balm, valerian, bugleweed, motherwort

YOGA / MEDITATION THERAPY

SUPPLEMENTS
  • Forskolin: 50 mg twice daily (may lower blood pressure, don't use with prescription blood pressure drugs, should contain 18% forskolin)
  • Tyrosine: 1,000 mg L-tyrosine daily (after 1 month, add a mixed amino acid complex)
  • Vitamin B Complex: 1 pill each morning (look for a B-100 complex with 100 mcg vitamin B12 and biotin, 400 mcg folic acid, and 100 mg all other B vitamins)
  • ​Vitamin C: 1,000-3,000 mg daily (reduce if it causes diarrhea)
  • Zinc/ Copper: 15-30 mg zinc (add 2 mg copper daily if using zinc longer than 1 month)

HOMEOPATHIC
  • Aurum 6X (if experiencing restlessness, high blood pressure, heart palpitations, or cold hands/feet)
  • Iodum 12X (if experiencing a compulsion to move, tremors or weight loss)
