FOODS TO EAT MORE OF
- Fruits: avocado, berries, cantaloupe, grapefruit, kiwi, oranges, strawberries
- Vegetables: broccoli, cabbage, cauliflower, red & green bell peppers, spinach
- Bran, fish/seafood, beans, nuts, oats, seeds (especially pumpkin & sunflower), soybean products & whole grains
- Trinity Root (garlic, ginger, onion)
FOODS TO AVOID OR MINIMIZE
- Refined flour, sugar & artificial food additives
- Red meat, dairy, coffee (including decaf), tea, alcohol, iodized salt
ESSENTIAL OILS
- Infertility in general: Anise, bergamot, clary sage, cypress, fennel, geranium, melissa, nutmeg, Roman chamomile, sage, thyme, yarrow, ylang ylang
- Oils specific to male infertility: Basil, cedarwood, clary sage,cumin, sage, thyme, vetiver
- Apply to abdomen, hips, lower back and into the crease of the butt (but not as far as the anus). Can also add to bath water or use as a general full-body massage oil.
HERBAL
- Astragalus, cayenne, fenugreek, ginger, ginkgo, ginseng, red raspberry leaf, yohimbe (avoid if you drink red wine, have kidney disease or peptic ulcers)
- Herbal Fertility Recipe: Combine equal parts tinctures of ashwaganda, raspberry leaves, and oat extract - avena sativa. Take 45 drops of this herbal mixture twice daily.
NATURAL
- Yoga, meditation and/or tai chi
- May be caused by a zinc deficiency - have your levels checked
- May be caused by smoking - try to stop if you are a smoker
YOGA / MEDITATION THERAPY
- Improve MALE FERTILITY (20 min - YogaYin)
SUPPLEMENTS
- Arginine: 500 mg L-arginine 4 times daily for 3 months (don't use if you have kidney disease or genital herpes, or are prone to cold sores - take with a mixed amino acid complex)
- Carnitine: 3g daily for 4 months
- Carotenoids: 1 pill mixed carotenoids twice daily with food (each pill should provide 25,000 IU vit A activity)
- Coenzyme Q10: 30-90mg daily
- Flaxseed oil: 1 Tablespoon (14 grams) daily (can be mixed with food; take in the morning)
- Panax Ginseng: 100-250 mg twice daily, rotate with siberian ginseng (should contain at least 7% ginsenosides)
- Siberian Ginseng: 100-300 mg twice daily; rotate with panax ginseng (should contain at least 0.8% eleutherosides)
- Vitamin B12: 1000mcg daily (or injections)
- Vitamin C: 1,000 mg 3 times daily (reduce if it causes diarrhea)
- Vitamin E: 400 IU twice daily (check with doctor if taking anticoagulant drugs)
- Zinc/Copper: 30 mg zinc (add 2 mg copper daily if using zinc longer than 1 month)
